These views and plans of Tioram and Duart Castles were drawn as part of a survey into the state of historic strongholds in remote Argyll. Bringing together different perspectives on the same sheet, Sandby was able to convey a rich array of information. The views also illustrate how drawing and mapping were understood as closely related practices.
